Filipino food lately

Alice: Hey Lisa! I’ve been reading about Filipino food lately. It looks so delicious! Have you ever tried any?

Lisa: Yes, I have! I visited the Philippines a few years ago. Their food is amazing—so flavorful and diverse. Have you heard of adobo?

Alice: I think so! Isn’t that the one with chicken or pork cooked in vinegar and soy sauce?

Lisa: Exactly! It’s one of their most famous dishes. The taste is savory, slightly tangy, and really comforting. Every region has its own version too.

Alice: That sounds really good. What other dishes did you try?

Lisa: I loved sinigang. It’s a sour soup made with tamarind. It usually has pork or shrimp and lots of vegetables. The sourness is really refreshing, especially in the hot weather.

Alice: Oh wow, I’ve never tried sour soup before. I’d love to taste that someday. Did you have anything sweet?

Lisa: Yes! Halo-halo is a must-try dessert. It’s a mix of shaved ice, sweet beans, fruits, jellies, and topped with purple yam and leche flan. It’s colorful and perfect for cooling down.

Alice: Yum! That sounds like a party in a bowl. I’ve also heard of lechon. Is it really that good?

Lisa: Lechon is roasted whole pig. It’s usually served during big celebrations. The skin is crispy, and the meat is super tender. It’s one of the highlights of Filipino feasts.

Alice: You’re making me hungry! I definitely want to visit the Philippines now—just for the food!

Lisa: You should! Filipinos love to feed their guests. I’m sure you’ll enjoy every bite.
