🟦 1. Contrast – shows differences between ideas

🔹 However

Meaning: Introduces something that contrasts with the previous sentence.
Example:

She loves spicy food. However, her husband can't eat it at all.

🔹 On the other hand

Meaning: Presents the opposite viewpoint or option.
Example:

Online learning is flexible. On the other hand, it lacks face-to-face interaction.

🔹 Although / Even though

Meaning: Shows a contrast between two ideas in one sentence.
Example:

Although it was raining, they went hiking.


🟩 2. Addition – adds more information

🔹 In addition

Meaning: Adds something to what was previously stated.
Example:

The hotel has a nice view. In addition, the staff are very friendly.

🔹 Moreover

Meaning: Adds emphasis to the added point.
Example:

The book is well-written. Moreover, it's based on true events.

🔹 Also

Meaning: Adds similar or related information.
Example:

I bought apples. I also got some bananas.

🔹 Meanwhile

Meaning: Something happening at the same time.
Example:

I was cleaning the room. Meanwhile, my sister was baking a cake.

Meaning: Next in a sequence.
Example:

First, wash your hands. Then, put on gloves.

🔹 After that

Meaning: Shows what happens later.
Example:

We ate lunch. After that, we went to the museum.

🔹 Therefore

Meaning: Shows a result.
Example:

He didn’t wear sunscreen. Therefore, he got sunburned.

🔹 As a result

Meaning: Explains the effect of something.
Example:

The team didn’t practice. As a result, they lost the game.

🔹 Because of this

Meaning: Introduces a consequence.
Example:

The road was icy. Because of this, the bus was late.
